TOKYO (AP) — A new Haruki Murakami novel will be published in April and the publisher is saying little about it except that the Japanese manuscript is around 1,200 pages and the plot involves “a story that had long been sealed.”. “The City and Its Uncertain Walls” will be released on April 13 in 1Q84 Book 3 [Ichi-kyū-hachi-yon], Haruki Murakami 1Q84 is a dystopian novel written by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, first published in three volumes in Japan in 2009–11 (Books 1 and 2, was published on October 18, 2011, followed by the second volume, containing Book 3, published on October 25, 2011.). The year is 1984 and the city is Tokyo. A young woman named Aomame follows a taxi driver's enigmatic suggestion and begins to notice puzzling discrepancies in the world around her. She has entered, she realizes, a parallel existence, which she calls 1Q84 in a tremendous feat of imagination from one of the most revered contemporary writers. "1Q84" (One Q Eighty-Four or ichi-kew-hachi-yon) is a novel by Haruki Murakami, first published in three volumes in Japan in 2009–2010.
