If the a/c to max economy versus a/c max cooling doesn't work for you, the easiest (at least for me so far), is to tap shift to "M" when I can anticipate a lot of stop and go driving. The stop/start is defeated in "M" manual shift mode; to continue, a simple tap, back to "D" is all that is required. RedCadi, TRARON.
Before I programmed it I thought about an option that I never tested but I'm sure it works. Get a timer relay hook it up to ignition+ and parallel to the ego switch. Set the timer to pulse for 1 sec after 5 sec. Now if you turn on the ign the timer will turn off ego after 5 sec. Paul.

Disable stop-start in less than a minute without programming or cutting. Squeeze the clips (red arrows) holding the outboard hood sensor in the holder. Lift the sensor up out of the holder and use a tie wrap to hold it from flopping around. "Service stop-start" will show for a few seconds after starting the engine.
